What is harassment?
Harassment can happen in many different situations and take many different forms. It can be, for example,
- sexual harassment, such as unwanted attention, sexual jokes or innuendo, pressuring someone into sex, or non-consensual physical contact
- offensive jokes or images that mock someone for their gender, ethnic background, sexual orientation, disability or other personal characteristic
- hate speech
- exclusion, such as shutting someone out of a group, conversations or events
- physical violence
- stalking, meaning unwanted contact or attention that makes someone feel afraid or unsafe
- intimidation or pressure, such as pressuring someone to drink alcohol or to accept certain views
Don't hesitate to reach out
Our harassment contact persons are here for you. There is never anything to be ashamed of in telling someone about harassment, and you don't need to be sure that what you experienced was harassment. You can also get in touch if you just want to talk about what happened or ask for advice. You don't need any evidence.
When you get in touch, the contact person will listen to you and think through with you what you would like to happen next. They can, for example, help resolve the situation with the others involved, point you to other help, or support you in reporting a crime to the police. Your case is handled confidentially and nobody else is told about it without your permission.
You can approach any of them in person at events or send them a private message, for example on Telegram. If one of them feels easier to talk to, choose them.
You may also use the anonymous harassment report form.
